Paris Fashion Week is a form of clothing and fashion exhibitions held in Paris, France each year by spring/summer and autumn/winter schedule. It is organized by French Fashion Federation who sets the dates as well as the shows themselves. Paris Fashion Week is considered one of the global "Big Four" fashion weeks, including ones in London, New York, and Milan. The order starts with New York, followed by London, then Milan and ending with fashion week in Paris. Paris Fashion Week features ready-to- wear, men's and even haute couture shows.
The show was established in 1948, but the earliest fashion showings date back from the early 1700s in Paris. The first designers to display their designs and collections to the public were Charles Frederick Worth (also a founder of the haute couture-the style of high sewing), Jeanne Paquin and Paul Poiret. Today, top Paris fashion houses include Dior, Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Chloe.
